From here!

Welcome to my blog. It’s called, Life, Faith and Other Things. I’m excited because it will force me to really buckle down and attempt to arrange the jumbled mass of words in my head into some type of comprehensive, readable form. I’ve entitled this, my first posting, “From here!” When I think about it, this title is prescient. I don’t know where this blog will take me or if I’ll even keep up with it. All I know is that one of my “from here” moments, – ( I’ve had some major ones over the past two weeks. Details later.) – started when I sat down to write. I took the first step to whatever awaits in the future.

I’m guessing that I’m not alone in this. Everyone has encountered a “from here” moment in their lives. Whether it’s starting fresh from a failed relationship, or over in a new career, or relocating to a new city, what it has meant is that a past life event has dictated that we start our own individual “walks.” Shaky legs and all, it won’t be without fear or a few “white knuckled” situations. In fact, it’s going to be all too easy to look back wistfully over our shoulders, thinking that no matter how bad, uncomfortable or unproductive or out of step with what the Lord’s plan that something was, at least it was comfortable and predictable. But we’re going to resist playing the role of the Bible character Lot’s wife. I know I don’t want my life to turn into a pile of useless salt. So we’ll breath in and out, lift one leg and then the other. Now, that wasn’t so hard, was it? Happy Walking and I’ll check in with you next month!
